Our metal door was not latching on to the door frame. We recently had it fixed by 2 different people. But perhaps due to the weather and other factors, the door and the frame developed a gap. It was impossible to close.

This is our second recommendation for Mr. Libby within 30 days. This time, we asked him to fix our garage door which was unhinged and had a huge hole in it. Someone without conscience did a hit-and-run on our garage door last Saturday when we were not home. This would have been covered by our homeowner's insurance but with a deductible of $1,000.

Put closet tracks under doors for three sliding-door bedroom closets, mount locks at top of each (to toddler-proof following climbing incidents); provided suggestions on how to further (easily and cheaply on our own) add another element to make the closet totally impenetrable if the kids defeat the locks we agreed on and he mounted. He also removed a stuck-on shower head and put on the new one for me while he was here, which was super helpful as I'd nearly broken my neck twice trying to get the old one off.

I had a list of approximately 9 repairs that I needed done. Mark just went the list. He finished all but one project which he said would require another day (at least) - it was installing a tile backsplash in my kitchen. He quoted me a price and he will be coming back. Mark was able to do every job with ease and competence. He repaired a closet door, restrung a patio screen, repaired a slide out drawer in the pantry, replaced a toilet paper holder, installed a "mist" system on the patio, unstuck the back door, replaced my mailbox at the curb, replaced the shade cloth on the patio. Everything he did was excellent! I agreed to pay it when he quoted me the price (when he first arrived) because I could tell he would be worth it!

I needed dry-rotted threshold/frame on a garage walk-in door, a gate rehung because the "plunger stem" wouldn't close appropriately and--most importantly--the entry/exit of a rooftop-patio cover "tunnel", which had allowed a family of raccoons to live, eat, dig and play while ruining my patio cover roof.
Mark responded by phone, came out did an estimate and the work on the same day. The price was reasonable, included materials and labor. He also demolished the dry rotted wood for the door entry into the garage, but appropriately suggested I get someone else to paint it because of the amount of work/cost if he had to do it. Now, I can sleep during the night knowing the critters aren't chewing up my roof or bringing their food into the nooks and crannies of my backyard roof. My dog is safer in the yard thanks to the gate repair and creative fencing done to block the raccoons from their "den." Mark had to design and build this "animal fencing"--that was after he got them to vacate before construction. (This was after multiple attempts prior to his visit to humanely trap and/or block their entries to the rooftop den. I'm definitely keeping his card! Member Comments:

He helped me select, picked up, and installed a laminate wood-like floor. He removed the old carpet, moved everything in my house, installed the floor, and cleaned up thoroughly before he left.

He promptly came by to give me an estimate which he honored even though the installation took one additional day because of how much he had to move. He worked quickly and quietly, he was accommodating and very agreeable at all times. He managed to work without letting my two cats escape even though they are very wily and eager to get out. I was ill during part of this time but he worked around me and was very considerate. He was willing to give me advice on several other small jobs which I will be having him come back to do. He is highlty skilled and has more than 20 years of experience. I felt very secure in asking his advice. I would rate him as A+ if it were possible.

Mark tore down an old iron porch and built a new one it to our specs from wood, framed and installed a screen door for our kitchen, replaced failing outside security light fixtures, replaced and installed an exhaust fan in our garage/studio, having to construct his own enclosure, helped conceptualize and mount outside screens, did tile repair and drywall repair in our shower, and built ceiling fixtures for our plants in our kitchen

This is a long overdue report. Mark has been just the the best person that we've hired to help deal with projects around our house. My initial call with Mark was about rebuilding our porch and he was professional and cordial. He came over to do an estimate exactly when he said that he would. His positive and straightforward demeanor was refreshing and his prices extremely reasonable. He explained exactly what he would do and how long it would take and that was exactly what happened. He rebuilt the porch in a day and a half, very quickly and efficiently, gathering the materials himself and just presenting us with receipts. His material estimates have been very accurate and he's very clear about what he is going to purchase. On return visits, Mark has tackled a number of jobs for us and in each case his work has been exemplary and his communcation skills top notch. Mark is also very clear about where his strong suits are and encouraging us to seek out other professionals if the job has been beyond his comfort zone (ie larger electrical work-serious roofing). Mark has been reasonable and realistic at every step of the process, always punctual and we look forward to hiring him again.

I contacted 3 handymen to get estimates for this job. Two from Angie’s List, and another who was referred by a friend. I chose Mark because everything went very smoothly with him. The other two handymen were also generally good; however, there were a couple of bumps during the estimate process. Mark was easy to get a hold of, and he scheduled an estimate date shortly after I spoke to him. He showed up on-time for the estimate, explained what he needs to do for this job, and provided an extremely good price. He was very easy to talk to, and sounded very humble. I waited 2 weeks before he can do the job, because he was busy with other jobs the time I contacted him. This is understandable because a lot of people would hire him since he is very good at what he does. I was at my work when he did the job, and I had a very pleasant surprise when I saw his excellent work when I got home. Everything we talked about on this patio paint job was done so well, and the patio area was so clean.
